Story of Mr Vijay Kumar, a stock broker
This is about Mr Vijay Kumar, the owner of B.K. Arora & Co. which deals in stock and shares and have a turnover of more than Rs 10 crore. When asked about his early days in this business, he told that he has no intention to come in this business and even had no knowledge of this field. In 1982, he completed his graduation and was pursuing CA for his further studies. His father, who was working in Vardhman Co. as a secretary com G.M. , was given an assignment to develop Ludhiana Stock Exchange (LSE), because being an industrial hub, it was a requirement of Ludhiana and there was no stock exchange in Punjab state also. So taking over from his father, he took the initiative and started dealing in shares and stock. Thats how he started from a scratch and now is a known dealer in LSE. When asked about the effect of recent depression on his business, he replied that his business was not so affected during that period because his company deals on behalf of his clients and doesn't speculate itself. According to Mr Arora, key things to enter in this business are sufficient investment and sheer patience. It can be learnt from Mr Arora that sometimes in life, a person has to choose a way, which one doesn't want to choose and can prove to be good for oneself. Mr Arora wants to become a CA but choose a new field and prove himself with his hard work.
